Indiana Department of Transportation – Grand Valley Boulevard Bridge

The Indiana Department of Transportation opened the Grand Valley Boulevard Bridge on June 15, 2020 in Martinsville. Replacing a section of State Road 37 – a four-lane highway – the bridge provides both drivers and pedestrians a safe connection to neighborhoods, schools, and businesses. Prior to bridge, the intersection on State Road 37 would see frequent backups (only a single traffic signal controlled the traffic flow). The bridge measures 373 feet with six-and-a-half foot-wide sidewalks on each side. The $5.64 million project has already become a standout in the community for how it immediately addressed safety concerns, created additional transportation options for travelers to get where they need to be, and delivered a smoother commute.
