The Texas Department of Transportation developed and deployed a $1.6 million innovative electronic permitting program, TxPROS, which is the first permitting system in the nation providing real-time restriction management, true automated routing, beginning-to-end permit processing and workflow/performance management. The permitting system helps truck traffic throughout the state, avoiding accidents and damage. The dynamic routes – custom routes generated with turn-by-turn directions – keep motorists, construction workers, and transported loads safe. |
