The Missouri Route 125 and U.S. Route 60 Intersection Improvements project addressed serious safety concerns by replacing a high-speed signalized intersection with a new interchange. Led by the Missouri Department of Transportation, the $20.4 million project reduced crashes, eased congestion, and improved traffic flow for Rogersville residents, commuters, and businesses.
By eliminating the signal and adding an interchange and outer road system, the project streamlined traffic—especially during peak school hours—and enhanced connectivity between local roads. Finishing construction before the school year ensured a safer, smoother commute for students and families. Businesses also gained improved access, supporting local economic growth. The new outer roads along Route 60 create additional development opportunities and strengthen regional connectivity. The Greene County Highway Department and the City of Rogersville partnered on the project to deliver long-term safety and mobility benefits. The IIJA opened up $20.1 million available to this safety project. Without this project funding being made available, the project could not have been completed.
