Arkansas Department of Transportation’s Highway 10 (Cantrell Road) from Pleasant Ridge Road to Pleasant Valley Drive in Little Rock

State Highway 10, also known as Cantrell Road, is a key route in western Pulaski County, AR, connecting communities and supporting local mobility. However, intersection of Highway 10 and Rodney Parham Road became a critical chokepoint point due to its high traffic volume. It is now one of the busiest non-interstate locations in the state, with an Average Daily Traffic count of 54,000 in 2020, which is projected to reach 69,000 by 2040. To address these demands, the Arkansas Department of Transportation implemented significant improvements centered on this intersection. The project built a Single Point Urban Interchange at Rodney Parham Road to streamline traffic flow and enhance safety. The project also elevated Highway 10 with a bridge over Rodney Parham Road, allowing for smoother traffic movement and reducing potential conflicts between intersecting roads. This $88.52 million project has improved traffic flow, reduced congestion, and boosted accessibility to local businesses – making it easier for customers to reach their destinations. The project’s success has provided significant economic benefits, creating opportunities for growth and expansion within the local business community.
