The $20 million State Route 22 Horseshoe Safety Improvement Project in Garden Grove, Orange, and Santa Ana provided key safety and travel enhancements to the residents of those communities. This Caltrans project shortened and reconfigured existing roadway connections that resulted in improved overall traffic flow for motorists traveling to different parts of Orange County and the SoCal Region. Moreover, neighboring communities can now utilize State Route 22 in a safer manner, as the new configuration notably reduced vehicle collisions. The project’s advantages – such as reduced collisions, decreased travel time, and improved travel time reliability – contribute to expanded mobility and a more efficient movement of goods and services for Orange County residents, employees, businesses, and visitors.
