Georgia Department of Transportation’s Route 67 Widening & Intersection Improvements

When Statesboro grew significantly in population, Georgia DOT addressed the mounting traffic issues by widening a 10-mile section of State Route 67, a main channel between Statesboro and I-16. Moreover, pedestrian safety measures were lacking. To address these challenges, GDOT added lanes, traffic signals, and pedestrian crossings to the project scope. The $41 million project has allowed the public to better access local businesses, school buses to more efficiently transport children, and residents to commute to work in a safer and more efficient manner.
