Idaho’s Corridor Congestion Conquered project expanded roadway capacity along the US-20/26 corridor from I-84 to Garden City by widening intersections from two lanes to five, including dedicated right-turn bays, left-turn bays, and three through lanes. Led by the Idaho Department of Transportation, the $42.7 million project significantly improved safety and mobility in response to rapid commercial and residential growth in the area. With the construction of several multi-family unit apartments and single-dwelling housing developments along this route, many users walk to work, school, or other activities. A stamped concrete median provided access control, helping maintain traffic flow without reducing speed limits, while enhancing connectivity for both drivers and pedestrians.
