Maryland Department of Transportation’s Reconstruction of Dundalk Marine Terminal Berth Three

Led by the Maryland Department of Transportation, this $35 million reconstruction project replaced a marine berth at the Port of Baltimore condemned for its poor condition. Replacing the berth increased capacity for the marine terminal, allowing customer cargo to be unloaded faster and reach its final destination sooner. Baltimore’s port is an economic powerhouse and the new berth significantly contributes to its ability to support both state and local economic activity. The port generates over 37,300 jobs (15,330 direct, 16,780 induced, and 5,190 indirect), $3.3 billion in wages and salaries annually, and $395 million in state and local tax revenues each year.
