With the increase in economic development around the Missouri Route 744 exit, the 5.7 million project was necessary to accommodate future improvements for the community. Improving the road at the Missouri Route 744/Mulroy Road interchange on eastbound Interstate 44 in Springfield – outdated and in need of fixing – meant extending the ramps on eastbound Interstate 44 and the westbound Interstate 44 on-ramp, as well as enhancing drainage at Mile Marker 84 on Interstate 44. The project was completed by sealing the Missouri Route 744/Mulroy Road bridge deck over Interstate 44 to extend the life of the bridge’s driving surface. This project will help keep the increasing traffic volumes from commuters, commercial traffic and travelers flowing safely through the area.
