IL: I-39 Abraham Lincoln Bridge Rehabilitation Project

The Abraham Lincoln Memorial Bridge is the longest Illinois DOT bridge at 7,122 feet. The bridge carries Interstate 39 over Illinois 351, three wetlands, two active railroads, the I&M Canal and towpath, and the Illinois River. Through good cooperation, coordination and planning, the bridge rehabilitation was completed and opened to traffic on October 31, 2008 – 15 days ahead of contract requirements.
