WA: SR 543 Blaine Border Area Project

Originally a narrow and congested two-lane highway leading to one of the highest trafficked border crossings for commercial trucks along the U.S.–Canadian border, the newly upgraded SR 543 is now an efficient, safe five-lane highway. Due to innovative construction techniques and quality management procedures, the project was operationally complete 176 working days ahead of schedule.
