Texas Department of Transportation: My35 Waco

To accommodate Central Texas’ consistent growth, Texas Department of Transportation’s $350 million My35 Waco 4B Construction project not only helps ease traffic burdens for Waco and Bellmead, its made those areas safer to travel as well. The reconstruction of the six-mile stretch of I-35 included widening the main lanes to four in each direction while also improving frontage roads and interchanges to boost safety. During this project, TxDOT alos used a variety of communication tools to help its customers—whether traveling by car, on a bike, or on foot—stay informed during the construction process; providing resources to help them stay safe as well. From Waco residents to visitors, this project has provided greater mobility and safety for freight and personal vehicles traveling along I-35. The improvements make travel more accessible, increasing both tourism for the area and safety for students and visitors traveling to Baylor University.
