The Lamoille Valley Rail Trail is a 93-mile multi-modal recreational trail along a rail banked corridor across northern Vermont – providing vital connections for 18 town centers and linking to other recreational trails in Vermont and Canada. The $24.5 million project benefits community members and visitors by reducing commuter costs, providing low-cost health benefits, and transforming unused infrastructure into popular destinations. Serving as the longest rail trail in New England and preserving the state’s natural landscape, the trail is open all four seasons to walkers, bikers, equestrians, snowmobilers, and cross-country skiers, among others. The crushed stone trail surface is also ADA compliant, making the trail available to users of all abilities and ages.
