Michigan Department of Transportation’s $32 million I-96 and Latson Road Interchange in Howell improved freeway access while expanding transportation options with a local bikeway. The project also improved storm water runoff conditions to prevent flooding and improved safety with updated intersections with local streets. MDOT utilized a digital program called “e-Construction” to streamline the construction process, saving $300,000 in costs, which amounted to $180,000 in taxpayer savings and $120,000 in savings for the contractor.
