North Dakota Department of Transportation’s $18 million 55th Street Bridge and Northeast Bypass project in Minot provided an essential overpass for motorist and improved access to intermodal shipping. The project also enhanced road and rail safety for motorists and trucks, by building a bypass over the BNSF freight rail line. The bypass strengthens the regional economy by improving the traffic flow in and out of the city’s agricultural park, Great Plains Energy Park, and Port of North Dakota Intermodal Facility.
