Texas Department of Transportation’s $1 billion DFW Connector project provides a modern highway spanning eight miles, relieving congestion for the 176,000 vehicles that each day utilized the previous “grapevine tunnel.” The project improves air quality by reducing congestion and enhances mobility with a new highway connecting the North Texas’ four most populous counties. The project time was also reduced from the traditional 10 years to complete down to four years, saving time and reducing delays to motorists.
