Washington State Department of Transportation’s $20 million Ebey Slough Bridge Replacement project updated an almost 90-year-old bridge while expanding transportation options for the community by adding bike lanes for cyclists and sidewalks for pedestrian access. The original bridge, built in 1925, caused significant delays when it opened to marine traffic. The new and improved bridge allows marine traffic to efficiently move below the bridge while providing motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists a safe and efficient crossing without delay.
