Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department’s $72.7 million Interstate 540 project was completed on time and $7.2 million under budget. The project reduced congestion and improved safety by replacing deficient bridges and repaving seven miles of interstate, connecting the region of the Fort Smith metropolitan area for motorists and freight.
