CA: Downtown Redding Pavement Preservation and Bike Lane Project

California Department of Transportation’s $3.2 million Downtown Redding Pavement Preservation and Bike Lane Project improved multi-modal transportation options and safety conditions in Redding while reducing traffic congestion. Originally planned as a pavement recycling project, Caltrans and local officials decided to add bike lanes after overwhelming support from the public to create friendlier street for bikes. The changes provided multi-modal connectivity the downtown area.
