North Carolina Department of Transportation’s $144 million I-85 Corridor Improvements project improved mobility, relieved congestion, and increased safety by modernizing and upgrading bridges, highway, and rail infrastructure between Salisbury and Greensboro. The selected team proposed innovative techniques in management, financing, design, and construction that would allow the department to minimize construction impacts to traffic, enhance safety for workers and motorists, as well as accelerate project completion.
