Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s $181 million renovation project enhanced safety mobility and quality of life in Pittsburgh for the 70,000 commuters it serves each day by providing a more efficient and more sustainable transportation system, improving multimodal connectivity and appropriately addressing aesthetics. The project increased access to sports venues, the international airport and downtown, which are vital to the city’s tourism, economy, and culture.
