Oklahoma Department of Transportation – I-235 Access to Downtown OKC

Oklahoma Department of Transportation’s $3.5 million project on I-235 replaced the functionally obsolete ramp at NE 10th Street and reconstructed the I-235 loop-ramp to Harrison Avenue and NE 8th Street. Completed under budget, it increased safety, mobility and access to Oklahoma City’s downtown, Bricktown areas, and the State Capitol. Thanks to these improvements more than 620,000 people have better access to the fast-growing Innovation District, which houses hospitals, research facilities and the upcoming General Electric Global Energy Research Center. The project has fostered economic growth and improved quality of life as retail, commercial, residential and entertainment venues help redevelop the city’s core.
