Florida Department of Transportation’s $17 million project improved pedestrian safety and multimodal access along this commercial corridor for Daytona Beach residents and thousands of yearly visitors. A pedestrian bridge and wide sidewalks, among other aesthetic features improved comfort, safety and mobility while creating a distinctive sense of place and destination. The project will make a positive difference in travel experience during NASCAR’s Daytona 500 events, Bike Week and Spring Break celebrations and will trigger an economic revitalization across the Daytona Beach region.
