Alabama Department of Transportation—Dothan Bridge Slide

When the Ross Clark Circle, which crosses Beaver Creek in Dothan, Ala., was first constructed in the 1950s, about 50 vehicles traveled the route each day. Today, eight times that many vehicles utilize the route and that number is only expected to rapidly increase over the next 20 years. To keep traffic moving in one of the busiest intersections of the area, ALDOT embarked on its first Accelerated Bridge Construction project, the $11 million Dothan Bridge Slide. To educate the public and keep the community in the loop on things like partial closures, ALDOT launched an extensive communications campaign. The project was completed in August 2016 and can now help motorists better navigate the area today and in the future.Dothan.JPG
