Arizona Department of Transportation—State Route 89: Hell Canyon Bridge

The original Hell Canyon Bridge in northern Arizona was built in 1954 and served the area well. Fast forward a half decade, and this is no longer the case, as the bridge was structurally deficient and no longer met the needs of people or commerce. ADOT replaced the bridge with a $14.4 million modernized four-span steel-plate girder bridge that can now accommodate heavy loads, ensuring commercial trucks can carry goods and products more easily to their final destinations, and the more than 3,400 vehicles a day. The new bridge opened to traffic in June 2016.Arizona DOT's State Route 89- Hell Canyon Bridge
