The America’s Transportation Awards judging is now in full swing! Our judges now hold the fate of all 79 projects in their hands as they judge each nomination in their respective categories.
As a reminder, projects are first judged regionally (and with projects entered in the same category and of the same size). Winners are announced at each regional meeting throughout the summer:
Once all regional winners are named, competition sponsors (AASHTO, Socrata, AAA, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce) will announce “America’s Top 12.” Based on scores given during the regional competition, the three highest-scoring projects are added to this list and then go on to compete for the top two awards. The Grand Prize is decided by our panel of judges, while the Socrata People’s Choice Award is given to the project with the highest number of online votes by the public (you’ll see the buttons to vote right here on this website). These two winners are announced at the AASHTO Annual Meeting, held this year in Atlanta in September.
