The Nebraska City Southeast Interchange is a four-lane highway intersects with U.S. Highway 75; a key route for commerce in Nebraska that supports traffic from over 10,000 vehicles daily. To help improve safety and increase access to I-80 and I-29, the Nebraska DOT began the process for the $25 million Nebraska City Southeast Interchange project back in 2009 with strong support from the public through its completion. Increased mobility and community connection has been the focus throughout the project, which was phased to allow the intersection to remain open through construction in order to provide travelers access to adjacent properties and businesses. Additionally, recent flooding severely impacted mobility in southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa, causing this route to become even more important to locals and commuters. Not only did this project help to improve the safety of travelers on the road, it will boost Nebraska City’s tourism.
