DC: 11th Street Bridge Replacement Project—Phase 1

Washington, DC The $295 million first phase of DDOT’s 11th Street Replacement project connected missing pieces of a roadway puzzle while creating a local bridge for pedestrians, future transit, and bicycles. The $295 million first phase provides three new bridges, a new interchange at 11th Street and I-295/DC-295, a 14-foot-wide pedestrian and bicycle shared-use sidewalk on the local bridge connecting to the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail, two new scenic overlooks, an additional evacuation route, and design accommodations for the future streetcar system.
