| Boca Raton, Fl – Deerfield Beach, FL Residents in Boca Raton and Deerfield Beach have a new multi-modal bridge that has reduced travel time and delays, thanks to Florida Department of Transportation’s Dixie Highway Flyover Project. This $39.5 million project enhances the transportation options and safety for cyclists and pedestrians with an upgraded pedestrian bridge.To minimize inconvenience for those that utilize the roadway and water below, FDOT designed a system to maintain traffic through work zones, especially during the peak tourist season. The design-build project allowed the project to be completed quickly and efficiently with the provided Recovery Act (ARRA) funds. The project finished ahead of schedule and on budget, while allowing motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists to cross the bridge safely and efficiently. |
