Georgia Department of Transportation – Follow Me Trail

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) constructed the “Follow Me Trail” along an abandoned railroad. This trail serves as a greenway for residents and visitors to bike, walk, and play. The trail is located near several residential areas and schools, providing a safe way for students to get to and from school. In addition to the asphalt trail, this $3.5 million project features a bridge that allows pedestrians and bicyclists to safely cross six lanes of traffic on a busy roadway without interference. GDOT prioritized the safety of all residents and provided an outlet that will help to improve the quality of life for the community for years to come.
