In 2017, the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) began using Automated Traffic Signal Performance Measures, or ATSPM, to consolidate data into corridor-wide performance. To make continued improvements to these measures, GDOT created an interactive application called MARK 1 in 2019. MARK 1 analyzes and collects data from multiple sources, converting high-level traffic control data into actionable measures. This allows engineers to quickly identify issues and resolve any problems without leaving their computer. This $1 million innovative solution has allowed GDOT to focus on the areas with the most need and effectively prioritize resources, saving time and money.
