The Idaho Transportation Department improved safety for drivers and pedestrians while also planning for future use by rehabilitating the vehicular and pedestrian Sandpoint Long Bridges.
The work improved the riding surface of the pedestrian bridge and maintained vital north-south connectivity on the vehicular bridge. The $9.7 million repairs to both the aging vehicular and pedestrian bridges were accomplished in just one season—half the time estimated during advertisement—and will be key for both structures to reach 100 years of service.
