KYTC improved safety and mobility in Warren County, one of the fastest-growing counties in the State of Kentucky by addressing the Interstate 165 Exit 7 Interchange with U.S. 231.
The $7.7 million solution to creating a safer interchange for all motorists was to reconstruct the interchange to a standard “diamond” interchange and remove the cloverleaf ramps. To save money, the existing bridge was reconstructed instead of being replaced. A concrete median was removed, the bridge deck was rehabbed and the barrier wall was upgraded to meet current standards. The project came in more than a million dollars under budget, and travelers have an easier and safer time navigating this fast-growing area.
