Taxiway B connects the international concourse to the north cargo area the Thurgood Marshall/Baltimore Washington International airport. The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) attempted smaller projects to patch and resurface the taxiway over the years, but it became apparent that a full reconstruction would be needed. This $11.5 million project excavated the existing pavement and replaced it, added new signage, lighting, and center line were included with minimal disruption to the day-to-day airport operations. The project was completed one month ahead of schedule, allowing all travelers to safely get into the skies.
