Ohio Department of Transportation—Dual Roundabouts to Revamp SR 619 in Stark County

Ohio DOT reduced crashes and improved traffic flow through this $10.8 million Dual Roundabouts project. The community of Hartville boasts a sizeable Amish community, which means drivers often share the road with horse buggies. To keep those in the community safe—regardless of how people were traveling—Ohio placed new roundabouts in the area, allowing for horse and buggy traffic to safely navigate the State Route 619 corridor in Stark County due to reduced approach speeds coming into and out of the roundabouts.

Also, sidewalks were constructed in the developed portion of the corridor, and ADA curb ramps and crosswalks were safely designed into the roundabouts, both for current and future needs. Now all commuters have a safer route on which to travel.
