Innovative animal crossings built as a part of this $71.3 million project not only improved safety for the thousands of travelers that rely on U.S. 93 daily as their connection to major metropolitan and recreation areas in Arizona and Nevada, it also improved safety for the world’s largest contiguous herd of bighorn sheep in the United States. The project team designed three wildlife overpasses for this project, but most importantly selected their locations based upon results of a three-year study of the bighorn sheep herd. |
