Nevada DOT widened the northbound 3.2 mile stretch of US 395 between Moana Lane and Interstate 80 where congestion plagued 150,000 commuters daily. The $31.5 million project consisted of the addition of extra lanes, realignment of the on and off ramps, and widening of five bridges, all scheduled to be completed in November 2011. This project was completed in June, five months ahead of schedule, largely due to weekly job walks, frequent partner meetings, and pre and post activity reports that kept everyone informed of progress and potential issues. |
