PascoagRIDOT’s $906,000 Pascoag Bridge project strengthened the structure to improve mobility for trucks and safety for all bridge users. RIDOT utilized innovative preservation techniques, namely grouting steel rods into holes drilled into the bridge’s arch stones from the roadway above, to save time and money over creating a new concrete slab (about $570,000 in savings). The project was completed with minimal impacts to traffic during construction and removed the previous weight restriction for trucks. |
