UT: Mountain View Corridor Project

Salt Lake County
Utah Department of Transportation’s $750 million Mountain View Corridor Project is a multi-modal solution to current and future congestion completed a year ahead of schedule. UDOT worked with construction and planning partners to efficiently construct the 25-mile freeway, transit, and trail system. The new freeway relieves congestion to the growing Salt Lake City metropolitan area, and the innovative process used to construct the highway allows commuters and residents to utilize the freeway in their growing metropolitan area.

To maximize transparency and collaboration, UDOT and the project team worked together to develop the innovative Construction Manager General Contract (CMGC), which was a program developed to find solutions to issues during the construction process. The team kept the public informed and aware of events surrounding the project in order to reduce travel delays for motorists.
