Maryland Department of Transportation’s $33 million interchange project increased safety, mobility and opportunities for residential and economic development by creating a new access point for the busy I-95 corridor in the Washington D.C. area, and improving access to the recently completed Intercounty Connector project. The investment included the construction of a four-lane bridge over I-95, storm-water management facilities, landscaping, several acres of reforestation, waterline replacements, and updates to utilities. The project connects and supports private and commercial development, including the construction of a mixed-use development that will accommodate 4,500 residences.
