Maryland Department of Transportation – MD 210 from MD 373 to Farmington Road Safety and Resurfacing

Maryland Department of Transportation’s $2.9 million resurfacing project along MD 210 in Accokeek increased safety, travel experience and transport of freight by resurfacing a busy six-lane divided highway in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region. Crews resurfaced this section with an innovative “whitetopping” concrete pavement, expected to extend the lifespan of the road by replacing asphalt with this more durable material. Throughout the construction of the project, crews maintained safe and uninterrupted traffic flow, saved the department $225,000 and finished the work ahead of schedule. This section of MD 210 is part of a master plan to convert it to a full expressway over the next years with several projects now underway.
