Florida Department of Transportation – Eller Drive / Intermodal Container Transfer Facility Overpass

Florida Department of Transportation’s $42.5 million project improved traffic flow, safety and inter-modal connectivity once crews upgraded intersections, constructed ramps, added new railroad tracks, crossing signals, retention ponds, lighting, landscaping and irrigation to the area. A new bridge provides a grade separation for freight rail at the main access roadway into Port Everglades and eliminates traffic congestion. It also allows uninterrupted travel to and from the Port’s cruise and container terminals, and it’s an integral connector for cruise traffic between Ft. Lauderdale, Hollywood International Airport and Port Everglades.

  1. Excellent job in that area and congratulations. Much needed and so well designed to alleviate congestion in an area where literally millions live and so many are using those corridors.
