Georgia Department of Transportation’s $12 million project increased safety and travel experience by resurfacing a busy section of I-20 in Douglas County. Using a variety of high-strength materials and innovative construction methods to increase pavement durability and improve drainage, GDOT officials extended the life of the roadway while improving mobility, access and safety. Safety features such as paved shoulders, rumble strips and new paint are ensuring safer travel conditions and facilitating the movement of freight and people west of the Atlanta metropolitan area.
