Missouri Department of Transportation’s Missouri Route 86 Bridge Replacement Over Long Creek Arm of Table Rock Lake in Stone and Taney Counties replaced a structurally deficient bridge across Table Rock Lake. The new Route 86 Long Creek Bridge delivers a safer, wider crossing – 32 feet with a 10-feet wide shared-use path compared to the previous 22 feet – supporting vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists.

Designed for 100 years of service, the new $66.5 million structure ensures long-term reliability while meeting projected traffic needs. MoDOT said the new bridge’s innovative design and construction minimized disruption, preserving a vital link for both roadway and waterway travelers. It is a key connector in the Branson area, linking communities, businesses and schools across Table Rock Lake – one of Missouri’s most popular destinations for locals and tourists. MoDOT also maintained specialized marine staging to ensure continuous access for both roadway users and the heavily traveled lake channel below.

Combined with accelerated bridge construction and an integrated design‑build approach, this method minimized disruption, avoided long detours, and enabled a wider, safer, multimodal bridge – outcomes not achievable with traditional construction techniques.
