Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities’ $19 million project in Aleknagik built a new bridge to improve safety and quality of life by linking residents to schools, businesses and the airport. The new bridge increases transportation safety by making it easier to travel over a water crossing, supports the local economy by providing better access to businesses and other infrastructure, and provides opportunity for streamlining government services while contributing to the cohesion of the community.
