Alaska Department of Transportation – Parks Hwy MP 237 Riley Creek Bridge Replacement

Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities’ $17.7 million bridge project over Riley Creek increased safety and mobility along Parks Highway, particularly near the Denali National Park entrance. The project replaced an aging bridge, added turn lanes, as well as bicycle and pedestrian improvements that blend with the natural surroundings. Using the innovative contracting method known as CMGC for the first time in the state, officials reduced traffic impacts and project duration by almost a year allowing the safe movement of people, goods and services along this busy corridor sooner than expected. Their investment ensures the park remains a local economic hub and a favorite tourist destination for 450,000 yearly visitors.
