Georgia Department of Transportation’s $36 million project widened five miles of Highway 167 through Ivan in Dallas County increasing safety and mobility into adjacent Cleveland County. Crews completed the project 47 working days ahead of schedule, saving taxpayers over $700,000 in construction costs. The new roadway improved travel and connectivity from the city of El Dorado in south Arkansas to the cities of Little Rock and North Little Rock in central Arkansas. Members from the local chambers of commerce anticipate the widening will develop new regional business opportunities as people, commerce and freight move more safely and efficiently.
