Louisiana Department of Transportation’s $4.5 million project increased safety and drainage conditions at the regional airport located in Ascension Parish, which currently serves over 100 based aircraft and is a critical transportation node for the citizens residing in this southern region of the state. The newly extended runway provides the appropriate length for larger corporate aircraft to take off and land safely. Safety features include a newly lit LED taxiway, runway, and guidance signs, and pavement markings. The project will continue to position the airport as an economic hub that supports jobs, and produces over $14.5 million in economic output for the parish and surrounding economies annually.
